You should avoid these foods at breakfast

Dietitian Elisa Cadena recommended that the ideal breakfast should consist of a drink with milk and a food with a protein source.

Cadena recommended that it can be coffee, panela water, chocolate or oatmeal, eggs or cheese, not forgetting to consume fruit and a food with an energy source such as arepa or bread, international media reports.

But just as there are recommended foods, due to their high saturated fat content, there are others that aren’t, like bacon and butter, as nutritionist Susana León explained.

Likewise, he pointed out that other foods that should not be included in breakfast due to their high sugar content are industrial grains; industrial baked goods due to the high amounts of flour and sugar.

The World Health Organization (WHO) suggested reducing saturated fat intake to less than 10% of total caloric intake and trans fat intake to less than 1%. Industrially produced trans fats in particular are not part of a healthy diet and should be avoided.
